Job Description

Anesthesia Technician

Description

PASE is looking for an experienced veterinary technician to join our Anesthesia team, supporting our Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, and Ophthalmology services. As Anesthesia Technician, you will be responsible for the safe induction, monitoring, and recovery of patients undergoing a wide range of specialty procedures, working directly alongside a board-certified anesthesiologist and an Anesthesia VTS.

This is a hands-on clinical role for a technician who wants to build deep expertise in anesthesia across a broad and complex caseload, from routine specialty procedures to advanced neurosurgical and high-risk cases. You will work in a team structure with strong specialist mentorship, in an environment that values precision, communication, and continued learning.

If you are a technician who enjoys the technical challenge of anesthesia and wants to specialize in caring for patients across multiple specialty services, this is a position built for you.

What you will do:

  • Prepare, induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia for Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, and Ophthalmology procedures
  • Develop and adjust patient-specific anesthesia protocols in collaboration with the boarded anesthesiologist, Anesthesia VTS, and service specialists
  • Continuously monitor vital signs and anesthetic depth, identifying and responding to complications quickly and calmly
  • Maintain accurate anesthesia records and documentation throughout each procedure
  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain anesthesia equipment and monitoring devices, reporting issues promptly
  • Communicate clearly with specialists and support staff across services before, during, and after procedures
  • Support pain management planning and post-operative recovery care
  • Assist in training and mentoring technicians and assistants on anesthesia protocols and monitoring standards, under the guidance of the Anesthesia VTS
  • Champion regulatory compliance (DEA, OSHA) as it relates to anesthesia and controlled substances
  • Contribute to SOPs and best practices that support safe, forward-thinking anesthetic care across specialty services
